WORK FOR M. ROBERTS MEDIA, THE LARGEST MEDIA COMPANY IN EAST TEXAS M. Roberts Media is seeking a Director of Audience Development. This position is tasked with leading across the organization including editorial, technology, and marketing with the goal of gathering customer data, formulating actionable metrics to acquire new customers and retain the existing ones. To function effectively, this person must develop, monitor and coordinate all the activities of the team, including the strategies they use. They develop data reporting standards to help improve daily and long-term decisions. They develop experiments to improve the customer experience, improve social media benefits as well as non-digital interactions. This position would also train other employees on how to use the information they produce to make informed decisions. The goal of this position is to grow and monetize our audience in all markets. KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To succeed in this position, one must have a deep understanding of quantitative tools and the ability to build relevant reports. Extensive knowledge of digital media, and the ability to lead cross departmental project teams is a must. Other key skills are GENERAL Excellent Project Management skills Cross departmental leadership and team building Confidentiality concerning financial information. Skills in both written and verbal communication with the ability to present analysis. DATA Oversee analytical model development and drive the modernization of our data infrastructure to be forward compatible with new tools and techniques Knowledge of reporting packages, SQL databases and programming (Python, XML, javascript) Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing visualization and reporting. Lead efforts to collect more primary or secondary data sources on customers, and leverage it to develop new audience segments and insights Filter and clean data to ensure accurate analysis Visualization expertise AUDIENCE Design and implement complex meter and paywall logic using proprietary segmentation techniques, modeling, and scoring Assist in defining future subscription product enhancements and optimized pricing strategies Develop, test, and deploy personalized user experiences (journeys) to drive more subscription revenue EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Higher Education (Bachelor/Master) degree preferred; Preferred certification(s) from courses in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics. Any combination or equivalent of degree requirement, and five years of related experience involving the essential functions of this position. Leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
