WHO ARE WE?
Dell Children's is the only Pediatric Level I Trauma Center in Central Texas and one of only five in all of Texas. It is one of an elite group of children's hospitals that offer the highest level of care available to children who have been victims of trauma. Learn more about the Level I difference and what it means for the comprehensive care of children in our area. Dell Children's also offers the only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Central Texas.
One of the world's leading pediatric heart surgeons, Charles Fraser, Jr., M.D ., is now head of faculty of the Dell Medical School at UT Austin as professor in the Departments of Surgery and Perioperative Care and Pediatrics. Fraser plays a leading role in building the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a focused pediatric and congenital heart program that leverages the power of the partnership between Dell Medical School, the greater University of Texas community, and Dell Children's, part of Ascension.
Furthermore, the doctors, nurses, staff, volunteers and other medical professionals at Dell Children's understand that kids have unique healthcare needs. Statistics show that children heal faster when treated in a children's hospital. At Dell Children's, behind those numbers is a team of dedicated professionals who work hard to help kids heal with the support and connection of their families and loved ones.
